Ferris ISD Students and Parents

Thank you for being a part of our school district.  We look forward to another great year and hope nothing but the best for you and your family during this school year.  Please help us, as a community, to strive to be the best in all we do.  Parents and students must be active members of a school district to make it a success.  We want to be the best and we want you to help us be the best.  Through our combined efforts we will help ensure that your child is ready for college and the work force.

Partnerships help bring about change and progress.  We hope that you, your teacher, your school, and our entire school district can work together to make our students well-rounded, productive citizens.  Our staff looks forward to a great year working with you for your child's success!

Sincerely,
The Ferris ISD Leadership Team

Texas Education Agency releases financial accountability ratings...

Ferris ISD received perfect marks in the 2016-17 financial accountability ratings released by the Texas Education Agency on Dec. 1, scoring 100 out of 100 and earning a “Superior” rating.

Created by the 77th Texas Legislature in 2001, the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) is designed to encourage public schools to better manage their financial resources to provide the maximum allocation possible for direct instructional purposes.

The FIRST ratings are based on 15 financial indicators, such as administrative cost expenditures; the accuracy of a district's financial information submitted to TEA; and any financial vulnerabilities or material weaknesses in internal controls as determined by an external auditor.

Based on the 15 indicators, a school district is assigned one of four possible letter grades (A, B, C or F), as well as a coinciding financial management ratings – Superior, Above Standard Achievement, Meets Standard or Substandard Achievement. For 2016-2017, Ferris ISD earned perfect marks in all 15 financial indicator categories and garnered the highest rating possible, "Superior."

DISTRICT NEWS

"We are committed to providing a stimulating learning environment. Students in Ferris ISD need to know that they are loved, valued, and appreciated by district leadership and this Council is one way to give voice to their opinions. Being able to talk directly with the kids and hear their first-hand perspective is one of the very best parts of my job."

Welcome to Ferris ISD

Ferris ISD is proud to be a partner with the City of Ferris in securing a brighter future for our community.

We understand the vital role education plays in the strength and vitality of our country; and we are committed to providing our young people with educational and extra-curricular opportunities that will foster their growth and development. From the classroom to the gridiron and from the band hall to the ag farm, our Yellowjackets are sharpening their skills to compete on a world stage.

Our goal is to remain true to the core values and beliefs upon which our school district was established while engaging our students with 21st century technology and learning. From expansion of Pre-K at our primary campus to expansion of career and technology programs at our high school, and at every campus in between, we will deliver on our promise of empowering students through education. One-to-one technology devices (Chromebooks and iPads) are in the hands of all students in grades 1-12 so they can be fully immersed in digital learning. Additionally, cutting-edge STEM labs (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) and Robotics programs are providing real-world problem solving skills to future leaders.

We invite parents and community members to join us in our daily quest for excellence. We are proud of our past and ready for our future...

Ferris ISD- The District of Opportunity!
