Ferris High School - Christopher Guastella
My name is Chris Guastella and I am very humbled and honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Ferris High School. I am excited to be part of the Ferris community. I look forward to listening to your ideas and vision for our school, learning from you about our community, and leading with you as we enter the 2023-2024 school year.
Like so many of you, I am a parent as well. My wife Jen and I will be married sixteen years in October. We have two wonderful kids, my son Rocco who is 12, and daughter Riley, who is 11. We are a big sports family and love Florida State University. My family truly blessed my life and joining the Ferris High School family makes my life much richer.
I come to you with over fifteen years of experience. I have been at High school principal, Junior High principal, math teacher, and coach. I also proudly served 5 years in the Air Force. I am thrilled to bring my skills as an education leader to Ferris High School and to work with you as a partner to ensure our students are successful and have a sense of belonging. We will focus on and meet the social and emotional needs of all our students to establish equitable learning opportunities.
Please contact me with any questions, concerns, and positive input that will provide our students with an outstanding learning environment. Go Yellow Jackets!
Ferris Junior High School - Ray Blanco
My name is Ray Blanco, and I have the honor and privilege to serve as you principal at FJH. This is my 17th year in education, and my 4th in school administration. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and moved to Texas in 2016 with my wife Lizzy. Shortly after, we were blessed to welcome our daughter, Sophia, who is going into a dual language program in Kindergarten this year. I am a first generation American, born from Cuban immigrant parents. Lizzy is also Cuban, and we speak Spanish primarily at home. I am also fluent in Italian and American Sign Language. I served 6 years in the United States Navy as a cryptologist technician, attended Nova Southeastern University for my bachelors in psychology, Dallas Baptist University for my Masters in educational leadership, and am currently enrolled at West Texas A&M in my 3rd year for my doctoral in rural school leadership. I chose to come to Ferris because I believe that rural school students deserve the best we can offer in order to positively impact the challenges the world of tomorrow presents.
Lee Longino Elementary School - Christy Murphy
My name is Christy Murphy and I am grateful to serve as the principal of Lee Longino Elementary. I received my Bachelors degree from Southwest Texas in San Marcos. I earned my Master's degree at DBU, Dallas Baptist University. I have spent the previous decade in Dallas ISD and the previous year as assistant principal in Ferris at McDonald Elementary. In the past nineteen years, I have taught various grade levels, been an instructional coach, and an assistant principal for seven years. I believe that by working together, we can foster a supportive environment that empowers our students to reach their full potential. I am here to partner with you to make this a successful year.
Lucy Mae McDonald Elementary School - Bobbi Cook
Hello, Ferris Family! My name is Bobbi Cook and I will be serving our community as the principal at McDonald Elementary. After completing my schooling here as a student many years ago, I am now beginning my 20th year with Ferris ISD. I've served in many different capacities including the roles of paraprofessional, teacher, Learning Specialist, Assistant Principal and Principal. I have a passion for teaching and learning and am honored to carry out that passion at McDonald Elementary.
Hazel Ingram Elementary School - Mandy Allen
My name is Mandy Allen. This will be my third year in Ferris ISD, but my first year serving in the role of Principal at Hazel Ingram Elementary. For the past two years I have been the assistant principal. Before coming to Ferris ISD I was in Waxahachie where I taught for 12 years. I have experience teaching first grade and intervention for grades K-5. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M Commerce and my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. My husband and I have been married for 14 years. We have two beautiful girls Addison (11) and Annabelle (6). In my free time I enjoy being outside hiking, reading, running and playing with my kids.
At a young age I realized education would be my chosen profession. I had some of the most wonderful experiences in elementary school. Many of my teachers taught with such passion and heart and focused on not only teaching academics, but instilling positive character traits in us as well. My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow academically, physically, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere here at Hazel Ingram where students can meet their full potential.
Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns as they arise.
