Superintendent
Hector Madrigal proudly serves this community and school district as the Superintendent. He comes to Ferris ISD from Karnes City ISD, where he served as Superintendent from December 2019–February 2023. During his tenure, the KCISD accountability rating increased, it earned TEA distinctions in multiple areas, the general fund balance increased by approximately $15 million, and a $22 million bond passed. Mr. Madrigal worked hand-in-hand with the KCISD Board of Trustees to improve employee benefits, which included raises each year for teachers, professional staff, and paraprofessional staff and increased stipends and retention incentives.
Prior to serving at KCISD, Mr. Madrigal served as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction at San Benito CISD. He has also served as campus administrator at various school districts across Texas.
Mr. Madrigal grew up in San Isidro, Texas and graduated from Tarleton State University, earning his bachelors degree in Spanish. He earned his masters degree in Educational Administration from UT Pan American and is currently working towards his doctorate.
He and his wife Brooke, combined, have five children: Max, Hope, Colt, Kaitlyn, and Zoey, and two grandchildren: Quinn and Steele. In his off time, he loves spending time with his family, barbecuing, watching college football, and officiating high school and collegiate track meets.
